“Hi, I’m Lauren…”
I've been a yoga teacher for over a decade. But before I was a teacher, I was someone who desperately needed this practice.
Back then I wasn't navigating depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder. I was just lost in it, without a map or a compass. Yoga didn't erase any of that overnight. But slowly, it gave me ground to stand on. I know when something's shifting now and I know what to do. I can adjust. That's the difference between being lost and knowing the way.
That's also the yoga I teach. The kind that travels with you into the hard seasons. The kind that helps you cope and thrive, not one or the other. The kind that, over time, helps you actually enjoy being alone with yourself.
I've taught in studios, in behavioral health units in hospitals, in group residences for adults with autism, in luxury wellness clubs and fitness centers, and on Zoom calls with people across the country. Every one of those spaces has shaped how I show up.
This work, off the mat
Yoga has never been just a career for me. I grew up in a community that needed this practice, my roots in the autism and special needs world run deep, long before I ever became a teacher.
That's part of why a large part of my professional work has been building and leading a yoga program in partnership with the Nassau Suffolk Autism Society where they provide weekly classes for families and caregivers, virtual sessions, and monthly in-person events for their members.
It’s also why I serve on the board of United We Om, a karma yoga organization that shares micro-grants with changemakers practicing seva, selfless service in action, bringing yoga off the mat and into the world. You could say it’s part of
my karma yoga.
What I believe
about this practice
Yoga isn't a one-hour class. It's a lifelong toolbox.
My approach is rooted in the Ashtanga lineage, a full eight-limb system of yoga, and shaped by years of yoga therapy training, adaptive teaching, and working with people whose bodies, minds, and nervous systems don't fit a mold.
It's also why birth doula work is a natural part of what I do. Labor and birth are one of the most intense nervous system experiences a person can move through and having breath, presence, and regulation tools in your corner changes everything about how you meet that moment.
I don't want to just fit you into a pose, but together we will find your version of the practice that suits your real life. That means we work with your nervous system, not against it. We move at a pace that makes sense for you. We build skills you can actually use off the mat, because that's the whole point. And we make room for all of it: the anxiety, the overwhelm, the good days and the hard ones.
I don't believe in an all-or-nothing approach. I believe in building your capacity slowly, consistently, and without judgment until you have more room to hold what life throws at you. Until coping and thriving aren't opposites anymore.
I'm also a certified Holistic Health Coach through the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which means our work can extend beyond movement into lifestyle, nourishment, and the whole-person picture.

Here's what I want
you to know…
Most of my clients come to me not totally sure yoga is even for them. They've tried a class and felt lost, or overwhelmed, or like everyone else had a body or a brain that just worked differently.
What they find — and what I hope you find — is a level of quiet and calm and physical possibility they didn't know was available to them. A practice that's actually theirs. And slowly, a way of being with themselves that doesn't feel so hard.
That's what this is. And there's a version of it that's exactly right for you.
I’d love to support you.
Whether you're looking for private yoga on Long Island, tools for anxiety and nervous system regulation, support during pregnancy or birth, or specialized yoga for a neurodivergent child or adult I would love to connect.
